Fish with apples is an unexpected but utterly delightful combination. Serve with a side dish such as Snappy Snow Peas, Cracked Wheat, or Pan-Steamed Yellow Squash.


  • 1 clove garlic
  • 4 Granny Smith apples
  • 1 tablespoon vege


  1. Mince the garlic. Peel and core the apples, then cut them into ½-inch dice.
  2. Heat the oil in a deep large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and apples; stir-fry for a few seconds to combine. Add the wine and season to taste with salt and pepper. Cover the skillet and simmer over low heat until the apples are tender, 5 to 7 minutes.
