This marbled and twirly-topped bread is a cross between a Christmas star and a rosca de reyes, or “king’s cake,” a wreath-shaped cake that is traditionally baked for Día de los Reyes in Mexico. The bread is decorated with candied fruits to symbolize the “jewels” on a crown and has a small plastic or ceramic figure tucked inside to represent the baby Jesus.
