This is a favourite dish for breakfast and for Iftar – the meal that breaks the fast of Ramadan.


  • 60 g/ oz butter
  • 100 g/


Melt the butter in the pan on medium heat. Add the sausages and fry for 2 minutes, turning them over frequently. Add the water, and cover with a lid. When it starts to boil, clear six places between the pieces of sausage, crack the eggs in the spaces, sprinkle a little salt on each, replace the lid, and cook on very low heat for 3-4 minutes. Serve while hot.
