Haricot beans are the main ingredient of one of the most popular winter dishes in Turkey.

Ingredients

  • 500 g/1 lb haricot beans, soaked overnight
  • 1 onion

Method

Drain the beans and put them in a pan with 1.5 L/21/2 pints cold water and the onion and bring to the boil. Remove from the heat and leave to stand.

Cut the meat into 6 pieces and sear in a dry pan
