  • About

To prepare sakizli – a chewy variety of muhallebi – add a mixture of 3 pieces of mastic crushed with 1tsp of caster sugar to the muhallebi when it comes to the boil.

Ingredients

  • 1 L/ pints milk
  • 75 g/3 oz

Method

Boil the milk and allow it to cool a little. Stir in the sübye or ground rice and sugar and cook for about 30 minutes on a very low heat, stirring continuously until it thickens.

Pour into individual bowls, allow to stand until cold, then sprinkle with cinnamon.
