This is a particularly valuable dish to eat during pregnancy as it is high in iron. Eat it with a pilaf or brown rice.


  • 450 g/1 lb broccoli
  • 50 g/2 oz/½ cup flaked/slivered almonds, toasted
  • 1 tablespoon corn oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil


    Cut the broccoli florets from the stems. Peel the stems and slice finely. Heat both oils in a wok or frying pan and add the broccoli. Stir-fry for 2 minutes, then add the almonds. Fry for another minute
