  • pounds potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 6 tablespoons butter

Method

  1. Cook the potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain thoroughly and mash with half of the butter and about one-quarter cup of the milk. The potatoes should be stiff enough to hold shape.
