  • 1⅛ cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • ¾ teaspoon baking powder
  • teaspoon baking soda
  • teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs
  • cups firmly packed light brown sugar
  • cup melted butter
  • ½ cup crunchy peanut butter
  • ¾ cup raisins


  1. Preheat oven to moderate (350°F.).

  2. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

  3. Beat the eggs until thick. Gradually add sugar and beat well. Add the butter and peanut butter and mix well.

  4. Fold in the flour mixture and the raisins. Pour batter into two greased disposable pans (6 × 6 × 2 inches). Bake for twenty-five to thirty minutes. Cool, then cut into squares. The chews may be frosted with Orange Frosting.
