In France, crêperies have withstood the pizza/sushi onslaught and are as popular as ever. There are five in my town alone. A brand-new, Breton-blue one opened just a month ago. They are the perfect family restaurant, holding no surprises, economical, usually with pretty quick service and an infinite choice of combinations, sweet or savoury, to please the pickiest six-year-old.
