One warm October afternoon in the countryside of the Veneto, Fausto Maculan gave us an excellent tour of his winery in Breganza and then invited us home for lunch in the seventeenth-century house where he was born and grew up. His mother, Pina Maculan, her sister, and the nurse who has been with the family for 50 years, made these delicious appetizers as a prelude to a spectacular meal.
