  • salted herring, 600 g ( lb)
  • a large apple, peeled and shredded
  • a medium onion, chopped

Method

Soak the herring in several changes of water for 24 hours, then drain and remove the fillets. Cut these into pieces of about 3 cm and arrange them on a dish. Mix all the remaining ingredients, except the parsley, together and pour them over the herring; then sprinkle the parsley on top.
