I knew many of Ogden Nash’s verses by heart when I was a boy, but only recently discovered the one which he contributed as a preface to The Savannah Cook Book (1933). It ends thus:

Everybody has the right to think whose food is the most gorgeous, And I nominate Georgia’s.
