  • About

Boil a handful of peeled, sliced fresh ginger in a saucepan of water for a few minutes, then add a little honey or sugar. It is a soothing but stimulating drink. Ginger tea can also be a home remedy for cold or flu, in which case a little sliced garlic and some cayenne should be added to the pan.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • A 3-inch piece of ginger, peeled and thinly sliced

Method

Bring the water to a boil in a small saucepan. Add the ginger, reduce the heat, and simmer gently for 10 minutes. Stir in the honey to dissolve.

Strain the tea into warmed cups. Add a lemon slice to each, if desired.
