Qaymaq chai is a beautifully soft-pink toned milk tea, with qaymaq, or clotted cream, on top. It is rich and sweet, and reserved for special occasions because making it involves quite an elaborate process called baad kaash. This method is used to aerate the tea and deepen its red colour, which softens to a light-pink shade with the addition of milk.
