Morabayeh seb is an apple preserve, where whole apples are stewed in syrup with a hint of citrus.
When my mother was growing up, she loved to make jams, and her father would proudly show off the large glass jars full of those that she’d made. In Afghanistan, preserves and jams such as this are enjoyed with hot naan bread and fresh butter for breakfast, or as a sweet bite after a meal.
