This is in fact a frozen version of that astonishingly popular dessert, tiramisù, which means pick-me-up in Italian. It is served with a refreshing orange sauce, but a plain coffee or even chocolate sauce would also be extremely good.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 50 g (2 oz, cup)

Method

Put the eggs, sugar and Kahlua in a bowl set over a pan of simmering water, making sure the water is not touching the base of the bowl. Whisk until the mixture is pale, thick and creamy and has doubled in volume; a hand-held electric beater is useful for this. Remove the bowl from the pan of water and continue to whisk until the mixture is cold.
