Serve this chutney with a selection of cheeses and some crusty bread. If you are using the sweeter red gooseberries, you will need the smaller amount of sugar listed in the ingredients. Although you can store it in preserving jars for months, a good chutney will also keep for one month unsealed in the refrigerator and will, in fact, improve in flavour.
