Diavola, meaning devil in Italian, refers to any dish that has been enlivened with chilli peppers and garlic. Sometimes simple is better, so here is a recipe that is simply spicy, garlicky and good.

  1. Bring a large pan of salted water to the boil. Add a splash of oil to stop the pasta sticking and cook the spaghetti according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
