This is more of a sauce than a chutney, but made along the same lines. A lot of New World sauces include fruit, which is not surprising given how abundant fruit is in this part of the world.
Put the vinegar and both sugars in a heavy-based pan and bring slowly to the boil. Add the onion, chilli, ginger and spices and cook for a further 10 minutes.
Add the sultanas and diced fruits and cook over a low heat for a final 15 minutes. Leave to cool, and add the coriander, if using, before serving.
