  • About

Kids of all ages love edible creatures, and Wilbur Zimmerman, my friend from central Pennsylvania, is one of them. This old-fashioned Christmas shortbread, an heirloom recipe from his wife’s family, was a favorite among Pennsylvania Dutch children a century ago. Fitted out with currant eyes and little paper ears and tails, the cookies actually resemble — well, what else — real mice!
