Ministers, ever the butt of endless jokes, were not given a reprieve at Christmas. Children love these delicious little fritters, which are still served during the holidays in a broad region stretching from Lebanon to Allentown. What out-siders won’t find are many Pennsylvania Dutch bold enough to explain what the dish is called. Now no one will have to ask.
