There are many variations of traditional alfajor pastry. This simple recipe is easy to make and will produce melt-in-the-mouth results every time. The cookies can be filled with either manjar blanco or a thick syrup called miel.

  • cups all purpose flour
  • ½ cup (230 g) margarine

Method

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375°F/190°C. Sift the dry ingredients onto a lightly floured board and make a well in the center. Place the softened margarine in the center and, using your fingertips, gradually work in the dry ingredients. Work the dough lightly, pushing it away
