These make an ideal base for a Mediterranean-style meal or an effortless side for your favorite grilled fish, such as our Italian-Style Grilled Halibut.


  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon


In a large sauté pan or skillet, heat the oil over medium heat until hot and shimmering, then add the shallot. Sauté until it is just beginning to brown, about 3 minutes. Add the herbes de Provence and garlic and continue sautéing until the garlic is fragrant, 30 seconds to 1 minute more.

Add the beans and wine and gently stir. Season with salt and pepper to taste and gently stir again.
