Egg Custard

Egg custard tarts (which is what the English call pies that have crusts only on the bottom) are a traditional English Christmas dessert. Egg custard pie is remarkably simple—just custard filling with nutmeg baked in a preferred crust—but since it’s made with the same essential ingredients as eggnog, it evokes the holidays in a major way.
