This pie is similar to a chess pie in that it’s made with a good deal of butter, dairy, and sugar. However, the final result has a much more potent punch of lemon than a lemon chess pie. Why? Because whole Meyer lemons—peel and all—are pulverized into the filling. The result is simultaneously buttery, tangy, sweet, and zesty.
