These are known as pastelitos de boda (“small wedding pastries”) in Mexico and, as you might have guessed, they are considered a must for inclusion among the treats served at a Mexican wedding. Just about the same melt-in-your-mouth pecan-butter cookies are known as pecan butterballs in the southern United States. As mentioned in the introduction to Butter Crescents, many variations on this theme are made throughout the world.
