It seems entirely appropriate that this recipe that incorporates the method used in a traditional New York–style cheesecake should contain apples, as the city of New York is known as the Big Apple. This cake is so moist it does not require any sauce or garnish, but if you want to dress up the plate a little, Cranberry Coulis would be an excellent choice.
