This classic favourite, so simple to prepare, cooks slowly and gently in the oven, allowing the rice time to absorb all the liquid. The result is delightfully soft and creamy.

Ingredients

  • 750 ml (24 fl oz) milk

Method

  1. Combine the milk, sugar, vanilla and rice in a 1 litre pie or ovenproof dish and leave to stand for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to moderate 180°C (350°F/Gas 4).
