  • 1 cabbage, weighing about 4 pounds

Method

  1. To soften the leaves lightly, place cabbage in a pot, stem down, in water and salt. Turn heat to high, cover and cook for 15 minutes.
  2. Drain and reserve the water to boil the stuffed cabbage later. Thrust a knife through center of cabbage, and remove leaves, one at a time.
