Select large, sweet, ripe, and firm guavas.

Ingredients

A

  • 3 pounds guavas
  • 7 cups water

Method

  1. Wash guavas thoroughly. Peel and reserve peelings. Cut guavas in halves and remove seeds carefully, without breaking the shells. Reserve shells.
  2. Combine peelings and water included in A, and cook over high heat, uncovered, for 25 minutes.
  3. Strain liquid into a pot and mix with sugar included in B.
