  • ½ pound almonds
  • 2 cups hot water

Method

  1. In a saucepan, mix almonds and hot water and bring rapidly to a boil. Boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat, drain, and peel almonds.
  2. Crush almonds in a mortar. Add lukewarm water, mix, and squeeze through a muslin cloth into a pot.
  3. Add sugar, mix, and set in refrigerator in a glass jar. Serve chilled with ice.
