  • ¼ pound butter
  • ¾ pound icing sugar
  • juice and grated rind of


Work butter until soft; stir in sugar gradually and smoothly. Stir in juice and grated rind of 1 lemon, or ½ cup mashed strawberries, and mix until smooth. Add more sugar if desired. Should sauce separate after standing, beat until well blended.
