  • 12 thin slices white bread
  • ½ pound grated swiss cheese
  • ¼ pi

Method

Trim crusts from bread. Mix Swiss cheese and cream, and spread on all bread slices. Add a filling to half the bread slices; top with remaining slices, cheese side down. Beat eggs and milk with a fork. Dip sandwiches into egg mixture, coating both sides. Heat butter till bubbling in a large frying pan; brown sandwiches on both sides over moderate heat.
