  • ¾ pound tender beefsteak
  • 3 tablespoons sake or dry sherry

Method

Slice beef thinly across the grain; marinate in sake (or dry sherry), soy sauce, cornflour and finely chopped onion for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring from time to time. Divide the beef into equal portions on 4-inch squares of oiled paper (18 to 20 squares) and fold securely into little packets. Deep-fry the packages in hot oil for 2 min
