  • ¾ pint milk
  • ¼ pound butter
  • 1-1½ teaspoons

Method

Step 1. Bring milk to a boil. Remove from heat and add butter and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Fill small bowl with lukewarm water; sprinkle sugar and yeast over the surface; after a few minutes, stir well. Then mix dissolved yeast into lukewarm milk. (If milk is too hot, it will kill yeast.)
