Kevin Ludwig’s Carrot Margarita

Kevin Ludwig, owner and bartender extraordinaire of Beaker & Flask in Portland, Oregon, has perfected the craft of the cocktail, and his Zanahorita, as this carrot margarita is known on his cocktail menu, is a fine example. Although a martini or Gibson is typically my cocktail of choice, I completely surrender to this margarita, seduced by its herbal accent of cilantro syrup and by the interplay of citrus and sweet vegetal carrot juice. It’s really a health drink, right?
