Use this recipe as a foundation for many variations. For example, you can add fresh herbs to layer the flavors; combine the rutabagas with other root vegetables, such as carrots and parsnips, to create a root vegetable medley; or brush the rutabaga wedges with honey or maple syrup just before they are done roasting to caramelize the edges.
