This relish is a good condiment to serve on the zakuska table with cold boiled beef; if you are not planning a Russian-style meal, it tastes equally good with pot roast.


  • 1 pound cranberries
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • ½


Chop the cranberries medium fine (this is most easily done when they are frozen). Stir in the remaining ingredients and mix well. Place the relish in the refrigerator and let chill at least 2 days before serving.
