A cooked tomato dip, which comes from our dad and is best served as a mezze and eaten with bread.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 4 large ripe tomatoes, chopped

Method

Fry the onions in oil until soft and translucent. Add the rest of the ingredients and cook on a low heat for 20–30 minutes until reduced to a third of what you started with and have a thick consistency.
