This refreshing crunchy salad makes a great accompaniment to roast pork, chicken or duck, but equally it’s a good component of a vegetarian spread. Nashi are a type of crunchy pear – also known as Asian pears – that are mildly sweet. If you can’t find them, then use any crisp ripe apple or pear, or jicama.
