  • About

This soup was inspired by the classic pea and ham but as usual we gave it a little twist. I started out making a soup with chorizo and split pea (very nice if you feel like trying it out) but decided to make it vegetarian by adding extra garlic, some smoked paprika and celery for a little more peppery depth. This is an easy one to make out of store cupboard ingredients, a bit of limp celery from the bottom of the fridge and a spare onion. The split peas do not need to be soaked beforehand.<

I enjoyed this soup. It was smooth and savory with a hint of the celery and carrots. It did add a bit of extra seasoning at the end to jazz it up. I made it in my pressure cooker, took 15 minutes to prep, 20 mins to cook.
