Warm up on a very cold evening with this romantic drink!
2cups (about ½pound) panela*,
Pinch of salt
1cupAguardiente* or any aniseed flavored liqueur
In a medium pot, over medium heat, place 2cups of water, the panela, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. Simmer for 10 minutes to extract the flavors of the spices.
Remove from the heat and add the Aguardiente and lime juice. Put back on the stove and reduce the heat to very low. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes just to bring the heat back up, but the mixture should not boil.
