Another way to make “frosties” for kids! Teach them how to place all the fruit into the blender and let them have fun with fruit.

  • 2 large passion fruits* (12 to 14 ounces yield about cup of pulp)
  • cups peeled, seeded, diced papaya (2 1-pound Hawaiian papayas or ¼ of a large 6-pound papaya)
  • 1 small banana, peeled and sliced (about ½ cup)
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 to 2 cups crushed ice

  1. Cut the passion fruit in 2 and remove pulp with a spoon. Place all the fruits in a blender and blend pulsing on and off for 5 to 10 seconds in order to keep the seeds as whole as possible. Strain through a sieve; discard the pits.
  2. Return the puree to the blender and add the sugar and 1 cup of ice. Blend until smooth and serve immediately.
  3. Add the second cup of ice if you want a lighter smoothie, or serve over crushed ice.
