This is another mixed fruit juice that can really be enjoyed by both children and adults. With the mix of colors and flavors, you prepare a variety of delicious nutrients for a healthful meal. Tree tomatoes are sold in specialty and Latin American grocery stores.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup peeled, diced pineapple
  • 1 cup peeled, seeded, diced papaya (a 1-pound Hawaiian or ¼ of a medium 4-pound papaya)
  • 1 tree tomato*, peeled and diced (about ¼ to ⅓ cup)
  • 1 small banana, peeled and sliced (about ½ cup)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 to 2 cups crushed ice

Method

  1. Place all the fruits in a blender with the sugar and 1 cup of ice. Puree until smooth and serve immediately.
  2. Add the second cup of ice if you want a lighter smoothie, or serve over crushed ice.
