Acharu is a spicy fruit salad. We used to enjoy this every Sunday at the polla or markets right outside our house. The flavours of green mango and guava with sweet ripe pineapple, plus chilli and vinegar, are outstanding.

Ingredients

  • 50 g ( oz) green mango, peeled and chopped

Method

Place all the ingredients in a bowl, season to taste with salt and ground black pepper, then allow to stand for ½ hour so that the flavours mingle.

Eat with caution.

But beware: once you start you will not be able to stop!
