My mother Concetta made olives into this delicious salad. She even had a special smooth stone to crack them open; nothing else would do!
Hit the olives one at a time with a stone or with meat pounder (batticarne) to crack them open. Without removing the pits, place them in a jar that will hold them all together with the sliced celery.
