This is a soup that my mother, who was born in 1909, remembered from her childhood. It always amused her to recall that her little brother Nini’, unable to pronounce all the words, called it Pacca Ricu Ricocca e Camucca. Nini’ loved it so much that he had to eat it out of his own special (big) bowl, which he called a scutedda che’ patrinosra, a large bowl with a decorative pattern on the edge that looked to him like rosary beads.
