Pasta with Fennel and Sardines

Most Italian grocery stores carry Cuoco’s seasoning for macaroni with sardines, or condimento per pasta con sarde, which is quite good. I use this ready-made sauce when I can’t find fresh sardines. I still follow this recipe, omitting the fennel and the sardines since both ingredients are already in the sauce. I do add the additional raisins and pine nuts for a richer flavor.
