I always peel tomatoes, but if you don’t think it’s necessary you don’t have to peel them.


  • 1 onion
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 1 cucumber, sliced (optional)
  • Salt


Slice the onion thinly, and soak in a bowl of cold water while you prepare the tomatoes. To peel the tomatoes, bring a small pot of water to the boil, immerse a tomato, count to 10, take it out of the boiling water, and plunge it into cold water. The skin will slip right off.
