Method

Preheat the oven to 425°F (210°C).

Remove the rind from the salt pork or bacon, and cut the salt pork or bacon into ½-in. (1-cm) cubes. Brown the salt pork or bacon in an ungreased frying pan, then drain on paper towels and reserve.
